Various Uses of MacroVOLT™

Quick Courses from Existing Materials

Stack of books

MacroVOLT™ can meet the full spectrum of course design. The system can be used for traditional courses that take time to research, develop, beta test, refine, and deploy. However, it can also work for courses that need to be developed and delivered very quickly from existing or original resources because:

  • The MacroVOLT™ development interface and tools are fast and easy to use.
  • The MacroVOLT™ software automatically creates many essential course features that would otherwise be time-intensive to set up.
  • MacroVOLT™ course options are flexible and enable you to choose a basic structure that fast-tracks course development.
  • Multimedia content is deployed using Macromedia Flash™ so it's fast and easy to include video, audio, animated/narrated PowerPoint presentations, and other multimedia.

MacroVOLT™ has been developed to support people who have never designed a course before as well as curriculum development professionals. It enables you to present hot topics and respond immediately to critical training requests effectively and efficiently.

Let's say you need to provide training on a recent change in the law that affects your organization. You identify the person who has the required content expertise and has written, lectured or presented on the subject. You arrange to interview this person on camera or with a recorder (even a telephone interview can be used). You can then obtain articles, presentations, case studies, interviews and other reference material that can be used in the course or attached as additional resource links. You can also use several experts or an panel that can answer questions from your audience.

With the MacroVOLT™ system, you can take materials from multiple sources and develop a dynamic interactive online course even in a very short period of time. MacroVOLT™ supports easily added modules like the "Ask-an-Instructor" panel that can dramatically improve the learning experience. You can also choose to support the self-instructional course with one or more MacroVOLT Live™ sessions using your content experts as presenters.

Quick courses are supported with the ability to upload a variety of files and immediately link to them from within the course. Supported file types include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, MP3, WAV, WMV, MPG, SWF, GIF, and JPG.

The quick courses can form the basis for later versions that include more features and revised content based on testing and evaluation.
